Jen Rogers
I live in Southport, with my daughter and our two dogs.
I have always been a creative person, but I lacked confidence in my abilities for a very long time; I briefly studied Art at the local college
in my early twenties, but I did not complete the course due to feeling inexperienced.

I have always enjoyed sketching and sewing (or anything creative!) and experimenting with different mediums over the years. During the COVID pandemic I discovered macramé - the art of creating with lots of different knotting techniques. I taught myself the skill, and enjoyed losing myself in creating whenever I had some free time! I unfortunately became unwell with my mental health in 2022, and whilst I was recovering, I found macramé to be incredibly therapeutic, increasingly so…from there
I set up my small business and over time I started to sell my pieces
in local shops, Etsy and at craft fairs.
I found I was inspired by bright colours, and a fun, modern take on classic macramé designs, creating wall hangings and jewellery. I have recently been experimenting more with found and reusable materials, and creating sustainable, accessible and affordable art. I have also recently started hosting workshops to teach others the art of macramé!

I particularly love more abstract and energetic pieces, my work is
rarely planned out and I work intuitively with what feels right for me
at that moment.
