Southport Heritage Day

On Saturday 9th Sept Sefton Parks department organised, as part of the National Heritage Weekend, a Heritage Event in kings gardens.  Early in the day the weather looked like it was going to make things difficult and by the time a traditional marquee had been put up the rain was lashing down.  At 11am, when we arrived the sun was coming through and the rest of the day was lovely and sunny.

Five of us from SCA had agreed to give visitors a chance to try some traditional craft activities.  They included needle felting, peg loom weaving and clay modelling.  The day started slowing but built to become busy and really worthwhile.

Celia managed to get herself in the paper.  Many thanks to Sefton Parks for asking us to get involved.
