David Grimbleby

David has exhibited extensively since 1971 in numerous one man and mixed shows including the Hayward Gallery, the Royal Academy Summer Show twice and the Mall Galleries four times.

He has also exhibited in many regional galleries such as the Walker, the Williamson, the Bluecoat, Manchester City Art Gallery, Graves Art Gallery, Stockport City Art Gallery, the Atkinson, Blackburn Art Gallery, Bolton Art Gallery, the Grosvenor, St Helens Art Gallery, Warrington Art Gallery and Scunthorpe City Art Gallery.

 

His work is in many private and public collections in Europe, Canada, the USA and UK. Two of his pieces can be found in the national archive “Art UK” website. He has won several awards and prizes.

 

His work is a celebration of nature in all its complexity. The microcosm in nature and also genius-loci or spirit of place.

His ideas are wide ranging and imaginative and he has an innovative use of materials that produce both fascinating and organic works. Nature, landscape, surrealism and the esoteric are it’s major influences.

 

Born in Lincolnshire he has lived in the West Country, London and the North West.
